It’s taken some time, with delays due to the covid pandemic, but The Yorkshire Society’s blue plaque commemorating the life and contribution of Margaret Wintringham MP was unvelied in Keighley.

Following strict covid rules, Keighley Town Council organised a small event at Oldfield Primary School & Nursery, where the plaque has been placed, attended by: Cllr Julie Adams (Deputy Mayor), James Travers (Head Teacher), Ann Cryer (Former MP of Keighley), Cllr Luke Maunsell and other representatives of the School: Victoria Whitely, Martin Brearley, Gill Holland, Sarah Cotton and a relative of Margaret Wintringham, Tim Clapham.

Pupils, Ava and Seb, represented the children of the school and local poet, Eric Bishop, who nominated Margaret for a Society blue plaque, was present too.

The location of the plaque is: Oldfield Primary School & Nursery, Bronte Academy Trust, Oldfield Lane, Oldfield, Oakworth BD22 0HZ

A big thank you to all those involved.
