Our Blue Plaque for Arthur Louis Aaron VC has arrived and looks fantastic.

Arthur was a remarkable young man, as any VC winner would be, but what he did before he died aged just 21 beggars belief in today’s world and Yorkshire can be proud of the bravery, character and spirit he demonstrated. You can read his story here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Louis_Aaron

Arthur was suggested as a recipient of a Society Blue Plaque by the 208 Squadron (North Leeds) Air Training Corps. Where to place a plaque is always a key question and on this occassion, we approached Roundhay School who were delighted to help us recognise and commemorate the life of a former pupil. Head Teacher Matthew Partington and his staff have been very supportive and recommended the legend that appears on the plaque.

The plaque will soon be delivered to the school and they will be organising a special event to unveil it in the New Year, to which all Society members will be invited.

If you think someone passed deserves special recognistion with a Blue Plaque, please make your nomination HERE.
