We decided to commission a portrait of Rob Burrow CBE and Kevin Sinfield CBE, whose fundraising we have supported since Rob’s diagnosis, and to donate it to the new Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, as a fitting tribute to their inspirational friendship.

It seemed fitting that such a portrait be done by a Portrait Artist of the Year, so we asked Duncan Shoosmith, whose unique style would reflect the character of these two national heroes.

To raise more funds for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease and mnda, we have created 7777 limited edition prints of this important work in honour of Rob’s shirt number.

Choose from an artist’s edition of 700 individually signed and numbered by Duncan Shoosmith, a very special edition of 77 prints also signed by Kevin Sinfield CBE and a supporter’s edition of 7000 to give fans everywhere an opportunity to be part of Rob and Kevin’s inspirational story.

The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease at Seacroft Hospital in Leeds is a great legacy of Rob’s work to raise awareness and funds to support people living with MND. The portrait of Rob and Kevin will be on permanent display at the centre showcasing the power of friendship and hoping to inspire patients, families and staff. Together with support from the public and thousands of donors, many inspired by the personal story of our patrons, Rob and Lindsey Burrow, Leeds Hospitals Charity have raised £6.8 million to build the centre and are continuing to fundraise for specialist equipment, family support and new research programmes.

Money raised from the sale of these portrait prints will help to make the new centre a truly world-leading place for people across Yorkshire to receive care for motor neurone disease.

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Kevin became an MND Association patron in July 2021 and, together with Rob and his challenges team, has helped to raise millions of pounds for the MND Association by taking part in epic endurance events, galvanising the MND community and inspiring the nation to support our cause.
