Join us and celebrity chef Chris Hale for a unique fine dining experience.
October 11 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm£70.00
We are delighted to be able to offer our members the opportunity to experience a fine dining event in the historic surroundings of the beautiful Chantry Chapel in Wakefield.
The Chantry Chapel of St Mary the Virgin was built in the mid 14th century when the stone bridge replaced a wooden one. It is one of only three surviving bridge chapels in England and, with the bridge, is a scheduled ancient monument and a Grade I listed building.
Our chef for the evening is Chris Hale, a Master Chef Professional semi-finalist, who now owns Pop Up North, a company which specialises in providing bespoke dining in unusual venues. Chris is also the chef for The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield.
The evening will begin at 7.00 pm with a welcome drink and canapés, followed at 7.30 by a four course Yorkshire themed dinner. Each course will be complemented by a carefully selected wine.
- Walnut, pear & blue cheese salad with mustard dressing
- Mini Yorkshire pudding with smoked trout and horseradish cream
- Yorkshire Fettle, pea, courgette & lemon crostini
- Venison carpaccio, roast onion, parsnip crisp, celeriac puree, hazelnut vinaigrette
- Mackerel, rhubarb & fennel
- Game pie with seasonal veg
- Liquorice pannacotta with Yorkshire rhubarb & parkin crumb
The cost of the evening is £70 pp for Society members, and £75 pp for non-members who are welcome. The price is inclusive of all food and drink; a non-alcoholic alternative can be provided for those that require it.
Numbers are strictly limited to 24, so early booking is advisable.
There is some parking in front of the Chapel (The Chantry Chapel, Calder Vale Rd, Wakefield, WF1 5DL) and there is a public car park across the road, near The Hepworth. The Chapel is also within walking distance of Wakefield Kirkgate Station and a short taxi ride from Wakefield Westgate.
