Northern Racing College, Doncaster, 19th September 2018.

September 19, 2018 @ 9:30 am

£15 – £20

The Society is delighted to announce a special invitation, from its corporate member, Northern Racing College, to visit their fantastic facilities.

Northern Racing College (NRC) provides a responsive centre of training excellence within the north, identifying, encouraging and nurturing talent, particularly within young people.

The Northern Racing College is one of only two facilities in the country who train people to work in the horse racing industry.  They train around 500 people a year across a wide range of disciplines from initial training of stable staff and riders through to transport drivers, racing secretaries, jockey licensing and, at the very top of the tree, trainer’s modules. Many of the students are on residential courses at the College which operates 24 hour a day, 365 days a year.

The itinerary:

9.30 am start (at the college) with refreshments and welcome.

A short briefing before a walk out to see the riders on the gallops.

Guided tour of the facilities and the yards.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions, meet the staff and the magnificent horses.

We will conclude with a lovely lunch hosted by Stephen Padgett OBE (Chief Executive).

The details:

Please Note: It can be windy on the gallops so warm clothing/waterproofs and sensible footwear are advisable.

Meet at the Northern Racing College, The Stables, Rossington Hall, Great North Road, Doncaster, DN11 0HN in time for a 9.30 am start.

The cost is £15 per person for Yorkshire Society members  and £20 for supporters and non members.
