The Yorkshire Wolds Discovery Bus Tour

May 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Forming part of the Yorkshire Heritage Summit, this educational guided bus tour of TheYorkshire Wolds is a must for any Yorkshire heritage lover.

DOUBLE-DECKER GUIDED BUS TOUR 10.00 – 16.00

A specially planned tour, in the company of local experts, will take a journey across the Wolds to give participants an impression of the stunning landscape immortalised in recent years by David Hockney, England’s greatest landscape painter, but also the rich scientific and cultural interest of so much of this part of Hull & East Riding.

Passengers will see far more from an elevated bus window than from a seat of a car, especially from the upper deck from one of EYMS’s state-of-the-art, double deck buses which will be used for this special tour.

The Yorkshire Wolds Discovery Bus will leave from outside the Hull Truck Theatre at 10am, close to Paragon Interchange, returning to Hull by 4pm, exact time depending on traffic conditions.

WHAT WE WILL SEE

Among places we hope to visit include the iconic Humber Bridge, South Wolds villages, Londsborough, Warter, Bishop Wilton, Garrowby Hill, Fridaythorpe, Sledmere, Sykes Monument Great Wold Valley, Rudston,  Sewerby, Flamborough Head. The trip will also include areas of the Wolds now under consideration as a National Landscape (AONB) and part of the proposed UNESCO East Yorkshire Geopark.

We will return via the coast road – Skipsea, Hornsea, Beverley Pastures then Hull. Return time estimated 4pm.

Because of the size of the group and nature of the tour, there will be a lunch stop at North Landing, Flamborough Head with opportunity for a short walk to look at local geology and the shore (steep descent) but participants will have to bring their own packed picnic lunch as the party will be too large for meals to be served within the tour time available and limited facilities at North Landing our main stop.

There will be short toilet stops at Pocklington (outward) and Beverley (return).

TICKETS

There are a limited number of places available on a first-come-first-served basis so early booking is recommended. The cost of tickets is just £10 pp (no concessions) plus eventbrite booking fee.
