Certificates and cash prizes will be presented on behalf of The Yorkshire Society by Professor Tim Thornton, Deputy Vice Chancellor.
The Yorkshire Society’s annual competition for essays on the history of Yorkshire was first held in 1987.
It is administered on the society’s behalf by the University of Huddersfield. The high reputation of the Prize is maintained by an adjudication panel of experienced academics drawn from the Yorkshire Universities of Huddersfield, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield and York.
Members and non-members of The Yorkshire Society are welcome to attend what will be a special occasion at The McClelland Suite, Level 7, Schwann Building, University of Huddersfield, Queensgate, Huddersfield, HD1 3DH.
The event will start at 19.00 and is expected to finish at 21.00. Refreshments will be provided.
The University is 2-3 minutes’ walk from Huddersfield Station and there is parking available close by. You can download a map here.
