A very special occassion when all the Lord Mayors, Mayors, Civic Leaders and VIPs of Yorkshire gather together to celebrate Yorkshire’s ‘national’ day. This year, in Keighley, hosted by Keighley Town Council.
Get ready to get dressed up an enjoy one of the outstanding events of the Yorkshire year!

Preparations are well under way for Yorkshire Day’s centre piece which will be complemented by a number of other public activities and events around the town during the weekend before and Yorkshire day itsef, Monday, 1st August.
First, we set of from Oxenhope Station aboard a special chartered steam train from Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Arriving at Keighley Station. we will be met by military band and chearleaders then all make the traditional civic procession through the streets of Keighley, past the flags, bunting and crowds who have come to watch, to Keighley Shared Church.
At the church, a multi faith thanksgiving service will be held.
Following the church service everyone will be transpoterd by (hopefully) vintage buses to Riddlesden Hall – a stunning National Trust property, for the formal civic lunch, speeches and entertainment.
8.30am Arrival at Oxenhope Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Station
9.15am Guests to board steam train for Breakfast Reception
10.00am Train to arrive at Keighley Train Station. Photo opportunity on the platform
10.30am Civic Procession (parade) through Keighley Town centre departs
11.15am Parade to arrive at Keighley Shared Church
11.30am Yorkshire Day Church Service
12.00pm Buses to transport guests to East Riddlesden Hall, National Trust
1.15pm Lunch to be served – featuring the best local and Yorkshire produce.
4.30pm Option to have a private tour of East Riddlesden Hall
And what a menu we have in store:
Breakfast will be served on the Worth Valley railway
1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment Corps of Drums will lead the parade
Our thanksgiving service will be at the impressive Shared Church
The formal civic lunch will be at Riddlesden Hall

Yorkshire’s Lord Mayors, Mayors, Civic Leaders and VIPs will receive invitations directly from Keighley Town Council in due course.
Only members of The Yorkshire Society are able to attend from the general public. To reserve a place please write to contact@theyorkshiresociety.org Ticket price will be £55pp. Numbers are limited and tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Payments for tickets will be made direct to Keighley Town Council.
