In a statement on behalf of himself and his wife Chris Madeley, he said “The Society and all things Yorkshire are very dear to us and helping to move the Society forward with such a great team of people to work with has been a most enjoyable and fulfilling time. Much has been achieved by The Yorkshire Society since its inception and we have seen it grow from its beginnings 38 years ago into a body of significant influence in our beloved County.
“As the Society is now poised on the brink of moving forward in this new age with different challenges, legislations and systems to deal with, Chris and I have decided, after much careful thought, that it is time for us to step away from the organisation and running of the society to make way for younger members to assume the mantle and take this great organisation onwards and upwards.
“We wish the society every success and look forward to the exciting times ahead. We will always support the work of the Society and will, of course, remain members as we have made many good friends throughout the years, both within the Committee and with members.
“We wish the Executive, Council and all members of The Yorkshire Society a happy and successful future as you work together in harmony to promote all things Yorkshire”.
Keith has resigned as Chairman of the Society and as a Director of The Yorkshire Society Limited effective 22nd June 2018 and we wish him and Christine well. A big thank you for all your efforts Keith.
