The Yorkshire Society produces plaques to honour Yorkshire people who have passed, Yorkshire places worthy of attention and Yorkshire businesses achieving 100 years of continuous trade.
Our plaques provide a timeless reminder of people’s achievement or a contribution to Yorkshire life.

BLUE PLAQUES
For individuals who have passed not less than 2 years before the nomination and who have contributed in some significant way to Yorkshire life through their work or a special achievement.
Made in Yorkshire, these plaques are 40cm diameter and made of cast iron.
100 CLUB PLAQUES
For Yorkshire businesses who have achieved 100 years (or more) of continuous trading, contributing significantly to Yorkshire’s economy.
Made in Yorkshire, these plaques are 50cm diameter and made of cast iron.
SPOTLIGHT ON YORKSHIRE PLAQUES
For places in Yorkshire seeking special attention because of their natural beauty, historic significance or geographical importance and that wish to promote tourism and publlc awareness.
NOMINATE
Anyone can nominate a person, place or business for recognition by The Yorkshire Society through one of its plaques.
To make a nomination please email contact@theyorkshiresociety.org Please note, the process of approval and plaque production can take up to 6 months.
CONDITIONS
- The nominee must cover the cost of the plaque and any associated costs
- The nominee must arrange fixing of the plaque and all permissions necessary to do so
- The nominee is responsible for maintenance of the plaque
- The Yorkshire Society reserves the right not to approve a nomination or to withdraw an approved nomination should circumstances change
- The Yorkshire Society must be in attendance at the unveiling of the plaque
