The Yorkshire Society is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Deputy Chair, Stephen Padgett.

Stephen is a Friend for Life member of the Society and CEO of corporate member, The National Horseracing College so he knows the Society well and is a familiar face at the Society’s major events.

Colonel Stephen Padgett OBE became Chief Executive of The National Horseracing College in July 2015 after a 36-year career in the British Army.  A desire to pursue a second career in an altogether different environment with people who are equally passionate about what they do, led him to his current role.

Stephen clearly relished the responsibility for ensuring the success of the College as a training provider, which requires also that it thrives as a business and continues to develop. His role in the Society sees similar requirements and his experience gained in leading The National Horseracing College and the leadership experience he gained in the Army will be of great benefit to the Society.

As Deputy Chair, he will work closely with stakeholders, help us develop new partnerships and support the work of the management committee on strategic efforts to grow the Society.

In addition to his roles at the NHC and Society, Stephen is chairman or trustee of several charities. Being a proud Yorkshireman who shares the aims and ambitions of the Society, we welcome his commitment and to achieving great things for Yorkshire with his support.
