At this year’s Yorkshire Awards, the 35th, Danny and Louise Stather bravely bid on a mystery lot in the charity auction. There were no clues about what was inside a blue envelope that had ‘Lot 5’ written on the outside.

In fact a lot of people bid and the amounts offered went up, an up, until only the Stathers were left. The auctioneer and compere of the event, Duncan Wood, revealed to the couple what they had so handsomely paid for…and that there was no turning back.

As part of their prize, they got a special video record of their jump and Duncan Wood was there to witness it:

The Yorkshire Awards are the region’s most prestigious and have raised over £300k pounds for local charities and good causes in their 35 years. The 36th Yorkshire Awards and Gala Dinner event, which honours those who have made Yorkshire proud and celebrates the best of God’s own county, is already being organised and will take place at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on Friday, 7th March 2025.
