We are pleased to welcome Sunrise Radio as a new corporate member of the Society.
Sunrise Radio was originally launched as Bradford City Radio in December 1989 and is the first and only commercial Asian radio station on FM in the UK.
With studios in Bradford City Centre, Sunrise’s mix of programming takes into account the areas diverse population, something that no other radio station in the region has previously done, making it a powerful voice for the Asian community in particular over the last thirty years.
The station broadcasts 24 hours a day on 103.2 FM across Bradford & surrounding areas and on Digital Radio in Bradford, Huddersfield, Keighley, Skipton and Halifax as well as Manchester and Glasgow. The station’s reach is also worldwide via the power of the internet on their website, and through mobile apps and Alexa Enabled Devices.
Director, Raj Parmar, who is also a presenter and well known personality said “It is an honour to join The Yorkshire Society as a corporate member, reaffirming our commitment to the county we love and have served for over 3 decades. I look forward to working with the Society on various projects and initiatives.”

The Yorkshire Society is keen to reflect the diverse nature of Yorkshire’s population and Sunrise Radio marks a significant step in its aim to be more inclusive. It offers an ideal opportunity for the Society to engage with Yorkshire’s Asian population, just as it provides a platform for any business wanting to promote their products and services across Yorkshire, Manchester and beyond.
