The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, has kindly accepted our invitation to become a Vice President of the Society with immediate effect.
John Tucker Mugabi Sentamu was born into Uganda’s Buffalo clan on the 10th June 1949. He was appointed Bishop for Stepney in 1996, Bishop for Birmingham in 2002 and Archbishop of York in 2005. He is the Primate of England and Metropolitan, a member of the House of Lords and a Privy Councillor.
Retiring on 7th June 2020, the Archbishop is a much loved and familiar face in Yorkshire. We thank him for his support and look forward to working with him – who better to help us blow the trumpet of God’s own County?
