Back in September 2018 The Yorkshire Society took control of Yorkshire Business Market, a B2B exhibition in its 14th year.
The aim for the Society was simple; to work with Yorkshire Business Market and make the event bigger and better. This year’s event, on 29th April 2019 at Pavilions of Harrogate, is the first under the organisational management of the Society and a visit to the event’s website will show the changes underway www.yorkshirebusinessmarket.co.uk
YBM, as the event is now called, is actually 4 events in 1. Added to the established Exhibition, where buyers meet sellers, is a Conference at which business leaders can discuss and debate key issues effecting the Yorkshire economy, a VIP Lunch where guests can rub shoulders with decision makers and network at the highest level, and a Networking Social to round off a busy day, where visitors to the Exhibition and those not able to make it on the day can meet, connect and do business in an informal setting.
The VIP Lunch will be sponsored by The Yorkshire Society and members will receive a preferential invitation. Hosted by Sir Rodney Walker, the Society’s Chairman, this will be a must for any corporate member wanting to make high level connections. To enquire, please write to ybm@theyorkshiresociety.org
Philip Bell, the Society’s Chief Executive said, “We hope (over time) to build YBM’s main event in April into a kind of ‘Davos for Yorkshire’. A fixed place and time where anyone and everyone with an interest or influence in the prosperity of Yorkshire come together to do business, discuss relevant issues and reach decisions that will improve the economy of Yorkshire and the lives of people in Yorkshire”.
Plans are in hand to make more of the Yorkshire Business Market acquisition; more events across the County and throughout the year are planned from 2020, with the welcoming of many new Society members expected as a result.
